Movie Caption

This is going to be the words in the video...

I know you've already married me,
And for nine years no less.
What more could I ask for?
I have already been so blessed!

However

There is one thing my dear...
If it wouldn't be too much of a pain,
Is that this time next year...
Will you marry me again?

Time is slipping

OK, gotta be quick! My wife has gone out for a well deserved break and I'm home with the kids for the morning. A good chance to work on the movie with the kids!

About the ring... the plan is to get an eternity ring as a "wedding band" - this will nicely double up as a 10 yr anniversary gift.

Now, just need some ideas for the movie...

Gotta get creative

So, my wife has hinted that she would rather a Mac than jewellery and I have reconfirmed that with her on a number of occasions. So how can I carry out my proposal idea without a ring? I am still planning to get her a ring anyway, but more on that later...

Well, one idea is to use the Mac to make her a proposal movie... with the help of my daughters (who's only 5.5 and 3 yrs old)! I will interview them and ask them to help me ask mummy to marry daddy AGAIN! The second idea is to keep this blog and let her in on the secret as a part of my proposal.

I know it's no substitute for diamonds, but I've found that we have shared our most romantic moments back when we had next to nothing. I guess it forces us to be more creative.

FlowerGirls

My two little daughters have often wished, dreamt, and pretended to be flower girls. The older one was fortunate enough to actually be a flower girl for a friend's wedding. Wouldn't it be wonderful to be flower girls at your own Mom & Dad's wedding? For kids, the biggest source of security is the family (in fact this is true not just for kids), and they love as well as marvel at the fact that their mummy and daddy got married at a wedding - BUT THEY WEREN'T THERE TO SEE IT!! I have heard on a couple of separate occasions where children interrogated their parents as to why they weren't invited to the wedding!

As for the soft and sentimental me, I think it would be blissful to "re-enact" the wedding as a family - with my children as the flowergirls and their mother as the bride.

Getting Married!

So I said I was planning to re-dedicate our vows to each other and "get married" again... well, someone else is getting married. Sarah's cousin in the UK. The family and relatives feel deeply about going, so we're going to try our best to make it.

In order to do so, we will have to save hard - which means I might have to re-evaluate my grand ideas about buying rings or Macs. Furthermore, I also need to start planning and budgeting for our 10th anniversary celebration. So we cannot afford to spend a few grand lightly.

What am I to do about popping the question?

An Apple or a Ring?

Of course, when a guy proposes, he needs to offer a beautiful ring. In my case, this is all the more so because when I proposed the first time, I couldn't afford a nice ring... so this is my chance to make up. However, given my lack of taste compared to my wife, I wanted to suss out what style of ring she would like.

Then one day, about a couple of months ago, out of the blue she suggests to me that instead of giving her jewellery for our anniversary, why don't I get her an Apple. Yes, an Apple Mac!
I could hardly believe my ears! But what about my romantic idea about a ring??

Sort of mentioned it to my techie (or geeky) friends - about the Mac that is - and they thought it would be a good chance for me to upgrade my old PowerBook as well. "His & Hers" they marketed. Then they went on thinking about ways to hint to their wives how cool Sarah was in asking for a Mac and what a great husband I was for getting her one.

But really, ask any woman: "An Apple or a ring?" .... Isn't my wife one of a kind!

Planning to Propose

I have had the idea of asking my wife, Sarah, to marry me again on our ten year anniversary. This is the big surprise that I have had in my heart to give her. It is now about a month left to our ninth anniversary, on which I plan to propose to her. This blog is going to be a part of that plan...
